Ackk! Bill the Cat phrase from the Berke Breathed cartoon strip. Why mention it? Because it is just a little better than Arghh! which I have always loved, from Charlie Brown. Non sequitur (er?)
The 15th Tom and Dinah came over and we brain stormed about the book. Aside from the fact that Dinah almost turned into a Popsicle after the fire died out (she was wearing a hat and blanket towards the end of the visit while I, knowing my apartment, had on long underwear, and three other layers. Tom was fine. Was he raised by wolves in the Arctic??? We had a breakthrough on the format. More than we had had in years. I attribute it to having another eye and brain in the mix. Possibly next week M&L will join us. I hope.
I made brownies for the visit but knowing my weakness took half of them up to J&B. Thank goodness Dinah ate the last one before she left!!
Friday was groceries and cleaning lady. What a wonderful thing it is to have someone to come in and do the heavy cleaning. I am really fortunate, and know it!!!
Saturday, today, what a treat the day was! My clean house didn't need me to scurry around doing anything, so I slept late. Then had the utter luxury of reading the Saturday Times (which comes with all the non-news parts of the Sunday Times) even the Book Review and Magazine!!
Then I went to the Mardi Gras party at church. What fun! This was a fund raiser, but also an event to see if we could get the community involved and it worked! We had a lot of families with under 6 children, parisioners, JH folks, and live music (arranged by me, thank you, thank you verr' much). Food was good, everyone seemed to have a good time and all were out by 9!
So home and I've spent the past few hours answering email from friends near and far.
I might say I am lucky to have friends who are far away, whom I haven't seen in years, who still stay in touch, but is it luck? Is it just plain love and friendship. I am thankful whatever it is.
When I feel low I realize that the mere act of waking up each morning is a true blessing. If the day begins that way, I have to pass it on some way.
