That was the week that was Then

Sunday the 18th. Stagger to church. And the rest of the day is a blur after the Mardi Gras party. Oh, I remember now, first I went to Tournesol with the DeLanges for a nice brunch, where I didn't see Renee, though she was supposed to be there to celebrate her birthday, then I went to Dorothy's to show her the arborists' proposals. I love Abby, she loves me. I sneeze. Abby is the cat. I got home I shed all the clothes, took a bath and a Benadryl. Dopey, but okay afterwards. Well, dopey but who cares?

Monday the 19th. Respite from $$$$. Cold very cold. Power lunch with Bryan, Melissa & FRB+ at Arunee. Subject: ESL and possible strategic alliance. Home after a tour of NICE, then a warm bath.

Tuesday the 20th. No Bernie, because can't count and get to Forest Hills. Counted, went to bank, fed Rebecca's cats who either were fed that morning, or weren't hungry from Saturday. Then off to Ray's at 6:00 for Pancake Tuesday and as always a wonderful meal and good company. At 7:45 left for Vestry meeting. Home at 10:50. ACKKKK!!!

Wednesday the 21st. Foster/Seiver c. 10:30. Cleaned up, baked pudding cake and cupcakes for T&D and Ash Wednesday service. Tom, Dinah and I worked almost all the time (Indian food break) until 5:30 when they left and I left with cake for Tea. We had a few new faces and a nice bi-lingual service. After the service I went down to Novo to hear Nathan and the Brazilian singer, but that gig won't start until March. I was starving and Rich, the co-owner, was having steak, so I stayed, listened to Latin jazz and indulged in a skirt steak. OMG was it good. Medium rare. Then home to sleep. What is it, tripsophanin or something in red meat that makes you sleepy?

Thursday the 22nd. Lazy in the morning but then I went to church to sit in the office from 2-6 while FRB+ did interviewing. After that, home for a shower and getting ready for the Novo party. First stop before the party was going to Rebecca's to feed the cats. I was surprised and shocked that they had eaten everything and drunk all the water. They were really hungry. On Tuesday it looked like they had not eaten anything since Saturday. I am puzzled. Have to admit I was upset that they were so hungry. Guilt. Major guilt. Then over to Novo. Bryan, Larisa, Enrique and Irene were there, then the others filtered in; The Wesleys, Barbara, Leslie, Kathleen, Rita, Monte, Barrie, Tim, Aimee and Georgia. We all had fun in a quiet way, then left about 11. Barbara and I walked home together and chatted. It was fun. A reunion of the Film Festival Folks. We have a formal meeting on the 5th, I think, to discuss this year.

Friday the 23rd. Well, I slept 12+ hours and never got out of bed. What's to say? I read the paper, ate, nodded off during the day and thoroughly enjoyed being a total slug.

Saturday the 24th. Okay, I will get back to this. I do know I watched 'The State Within' on BBCAmerica and 'Sell This House' on AETV. Oh yes, 3 loads of laundry and talking to friends on the phone. Multiple calls.

Sunday the 25th. I couldn't get to sleep last night. Go figure. Set 3 alarms and woke up, finally, at 7:38AM. I did make it to church on time, showered, dressed and semi-coherent. We had only 6 people. Not encouraging. Then Dorothy and I went to the supermarket where I bought a few essentials, then home fast because it was cold and we hadn't had coffee yet. I ate a Nutella and Peanut Butter sandwich with a banana and a strong cup of coffee. Stared at the TV for an hour then proceeded to organize the kitchen until 5. Then went out to forage, i.e., to Subway for a tuna salad and 7-11 for beer. Home, more organizing of the kitchen. Now all the items I removed from under the sink for the leak are back, the shelf unit is in the closet holding other supplies, the microwave is on the other counter and I arranged my corks and I have almost a 15"x20" bulletin board.

I have found a new way to keep warm. Sweat pants OVER the jeans. Sweater, sweatshirt and fleece vest, 2 pair of socks and slippers, if possible. Mmmm. toasty.

Nothing on TV to interest me, so took a long, luxurious shower, bundled up, and here I am.

Tomorrow, weather permitting - Money counting, Foster/Seiver/DeLange Power meeting, then Novo.

Will try to be more timely because I realize if I write down stuff, then I remember. OTW my brain just files what I've done under OTHER.

I want to go to Florida and am aghast at athe rates at the place I was originally wanting to stay. Will check Westwinds.

Snowing now. Maybe tomorrow, too. Good thing I have cool boots.
